Galoshes – Men’s Overshoes | Morts & More

If you live in London or anywhere else with comparable weather, then you’ll be accustom to the destruction of leather soled shoes by the environment. The mixture of rain and salt on the pavement creates the kryptonite for even the most superior crafted shoes. A long term solution has always been to wear shoes with rubber soles during the wet seasons. Some have gone as far as to apply a (semi) permanent rubber sole over the existing leather one. Not all men can afford the luxury of having an arsenal of rubber and leather soles; especially as the rubber sole offerings are quite limited in comparison. Thus leaving the majority of men with only leather soled shoes. Could Galoshes be the key?

What Are Galoshes

Galoshes are rubber boots that are slipped over your shoes (whilst your’e wearing) to prevent them from getting wet. The rubber form of Galoshes have been around since 1890, so they’re far from a new fashion accessory. Although they are a seasoned part of menswear, they are far from popular. But why? We discuss Galoshes in more detail in the below edition of Morts & More Moment. Click the video below, watch, and let us know what you think.
